Today's OOTD

You that thing where you promise yourself  "I will not buy any dresses this month" and of course, it never happens?  Well here is my purchase this month that I swore I wouldn't buy.  But it's a skater dress with horses on it, what's a girl to do??

Matching the Sky

I was recently contacted by Bon Marche and asked if I would like to review something from their “New In” section.   Having recently done a post on Bon Marche, I knew that they had some really nice pieces in this season and so immediately went on to their site to take another look.

I was quickly drawn to the David Emanuel Border Print Sleeveless Jersey Tunic.  Normally I am not a lover of tunics; is it a top, is it a dress, how do I wear it etc etc but I loved the colour and print so much that I had to give it a try.

I originally tried out the tunic with just my So Fabulous +Very.co.uk leggings on it’s own, but as you can see, that didn’t work on my body shape and made me look like a box.  I’m sure on ladies with a smaller bustline it would look completely different.

Undeterred I decided to add a wide belt which brought me in a little and I think really finished off the outfit.  I loved the result!

You can find the tunic in the new in section of Bon Marche and is currently priced at £18.00.

*I was not paid to write this post and all opinions are my own.

The Most Comfortable Pants in all the Land!

You know when you look at an item of clothing and immediately think “No way!”.  That is what I thought when I first saw the current trend for floral trousers.  Not because I didn’t like them, because I loved them, I just didn’t myself in them in a million years.

I have seen several different variations of these trousers around and have seen lots of plus size bloggers wearing them, but I just couldn’t envisage my being able to pull them off.  Floral dress yes, floral trousers, running for the hills was the basic thought process.

Because I regularly check (for regularly, read every day but shush!)  but I knew that if I were to buy floral trousers, then the @So_Fab_Clothing trousers from +Very.co.uk were the ones I would choose.

As one of my newest quotes to live by is “If you don’t try, you don’t know”, finally this week I bit the bullet and ordered them, found here and currently on sale, the day after I purchased, typical!

It should be noted by the way that this is the first time I have worn anything but a dress for around three months!

P.S.  Don't forget to enter my blog giveaway for a necklace from LoveFromMisbehave.com !  Ends Wednesday and found here

The Winter/Spring Outfit

Given the weather over the past few years, I think that we need to create a new season for clothing.  Winter/Spring.  Clothes warm enough to keep away the chills whilst still dressing in a Spring style.

When I looked out of my curtains this morning I was greeted by beautiful bright blue skies, daffodils growing in the garden and frost on the pavement.  What’s a girl to do?

Well today I went for my ever faithful Billie & Blossom  +Dorothy Perkins dress with flower print, purple tights from @EvansClothing which I swear would survive a nuclear war, my new glorious Hush Puppy shoes, hat, scarf (unknown) and my new leather jacket from @So_Fab_Clothing

(From an old post, forgot to take a new photo!)

How do you work the Winter/Spring look?

A Couple of Outfits of the Day

I love having red somewhere in my outfits, it inspires confidence and it is my favourite colour.  I bought a red cardigan from Primark a few months ago and it has become a key piece in my wardrobe, bringing together many an outfit.

I wore the cardigan with two different outfits today and thought I would share them with you.  The first is one photograph, an outfit I quickly put together for nipping out of the house in the afternoon.

Red cardigan - Primark £6.00
Glasses print top - Next
Jeans - Dorothy Perkins

My second outfit was put together for a Mother's Day meal out.  Never being one to turn down the opportunity to put on a dress, I raided my wardrobe and put together an outfit comprised mainly from the @So_Fab_Clothing.

Heart Print Tea Dress - So Fabulous from Very £32.00 from here
Biker Jacket - So Fabulous from Very £45.00 found here
Bow Detail Belt - Very

I loved wearing the red cardigan with the heart print dress.  I felt a little like the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland for some reason, although I promise, all heads remained where they were!

Did you have any good outfits for Mother's Day?

Wardrobe Staples

There are a few things that every girl should have in her wardrobe.  One of them is a biker jacket.

A biker jacket is one of those items that I have always meant to buy, but have never gotten around to purchasing.  They are just as perfect with jeans as they are with a pretty dress.

After reading MrsBeBe's post today which showed her styling of a biker jacket with a floaty dress, I have decided to have a look around and have picked out my favourites with a view to hopefully buying one soon.

I love the zip detailing to the wrists and the quilt trim to the this jacket.  It can be found here

Currently £34.00
I like the simple styling on this jacket.  It has a quilted look to the shoulders but generally it allows your clothing to make the statement whilst providing a stylish finish.

£65.00
This jacket is very on trend at the moment with the studding detail to the shoulders and the side buckles.
So those are my favourite biker jackets available at the moment.  Now I just need to decide which one is right for me and get saving!

Hearts & Flowers

Against my better judgement and ignoring what my purse told me, I couldn’t resist having a little look on the Very website when their recent “70% off” email popped into my inbox.

I have a rule when sale shopping.  Don’t buy whatever you normally go for.  My view on it is that whatever you tend to usually buy when it comes to clothing, anything you may have wanted you have already bought, put on your wish list or bought a different example elsewhere.

Sales are the times for change, for something new, and being daring.

My form of daring is patterns.  Having only in the past few months moved away from having a wardrobe crammed with black and dull clothing, colour is just about settling in my mind whilst prints are still scaring me somewhat.

So, with an aim on buying something new, bright and patterned, I ended up with these two lovelies.

I love the heart print black and white dress as it is something that I can style for work, a Saturday afternoon out somewhere nice or dressed up for an evening with a pair of killer heels.  The dress is still available and can be found here "So Fabulous Ditsy Day Dress" .

The flower print dress is definitely the one that frightened me the most.  Flower print?  Me?  Really?  The jury is out on that one at the moment, especially as I couldn't get a good photo for love nor money.  But in any case, you can buy it here "So Fabulous Tea Dress".

I'm still getting used to taking photographs of myself and need a better camera, but bear with me.

How do you do your sales shopping?
