Magnificent 7th - Polka Dot!

Hello and welcome to today's Magnificent 7th Challenge - Polka Dots!

We will be posting on the 7th of each month, and the aim of the challenge is to create an outfit to fit the theme, using clothes from our wardrobes, and yes that does mean digging deep into the depths and finding those long lost clothes! Hopefully one of us won’t end up in Narnia, but you never know with a bloggers wardrobe!

I had a bit of a panic this month as I realised that I owned three different pieces of polka dots, and every one was either packed away for the Winter or in the wash!  So I have in haste found some photographs that I have taken previously of me in polka dot!

Check out the other  in their polka dots!

Barbecue Wear for Magnificent 7th!

Magnificent 7th header

Welcome back to the Magnificent 7th Challenge!

We post on the 7th of each month, and the aim of the challenge is to create an outfit to fit the theme, using clothes from our wardrobes, and yes that does mean digging deep into the depths and finding those long lost clothes! Hopefully one of us won’t end up in Narnia, but you never know with a blogger's wardrobe!

This month’s theme is what to wear when going to a barbecue.

I have a clear idea of what I do and don’t want in an outfit for a barbecue.
  • A dress, something of a day to evening style as those are the normal barbecues I tend to go to.
  • Something that looks good, but is still comfortable.  A bodycon dress is not the ideal thing here if you are going to be eating quantities of meat and bread!
  • Something patterned.  I am a clumsy gal and invariably get some form of sauce on me.  Obviously you try and remove the stain at the time, but what normally happens with me is that you can still see traces of it, in the most visible places.  With something patterned, you can hide your clumsy mishaps!
So with the above in mind, here is what I chose.

The dress is from @So_Fab_Clothing at +Very.co.uk
Cardigan from +Next
Necklace from handmade stall at Skipton Market!

What do you wear to a barbecue?

The Magnificent 7th - Beachwear!

Hello all!  This month’s theme is the beach.

Unfortunately I have to cheat a little bit. I am involved with the #flashtheflesh blogger challenge which focussed on beachwear yesterday and I used my one outfit on that.
Instead I decided to have a look around on the internet and find my dream beachwear outfit, which I have posted below.  Sorry to the other ladies involved in the challenge,  I will do better next month!

Dressed to the Max

Hello all! Hope you are enjoying the sunshine just as much as I am. This is the third post in the series of monthly challenges and the theme this month is maxi dresses.

We will be posting on the 7th of each month, and the aim of the challenge is to create an outfit to fit the theme, using clothes from our wardrobes, and yes that does mean digging deep into the depths and finding those long lost clothes!  Hopefully one of us won't end up in the Narnia, but you never know with a blogger's wardrobe!

When I saw that the challenge this month was maxi dresses I must confess that I gave a little cheer.  I have had a maxi dress in my wardrobe since the Summer sales ended last year and it has never been worn.

It was one of those lucky things when you see the potential in something which everyone else has bypassed.  I spied a pretty print, all but hidden and squashed in the sale rack (which I never usually have the time to trawl through) and after wrestling with half dozen mixed up hangers, pulled out this lovely.

It fits just right on me and I’m mad about the butterfly print.  The dress feels silky to touch and for the price of £11.00 in the sale at +Dorothy Perkins , it was an absolute steal!

I have styled the dress today with an oatmeal coloured shrug from Yours Clothing and some sparkly heels which I bought a couple of years ago from +Next for a wedding.

Floral for Magnificent 7th Challenge

Hello all!  Hope you are enjoying the sunshine just as much as I am.  This is the second in the monthly challenge in the series and the theme this month is floral.

I have a lot of floral in my wardrobe at the moment and have really embraced the feminine trends of this season.  For this challenge though I am wearing a dress that I bought last summer but sadly, didn't ever pluck up the courage to wear.

The dress is from +Next and with it's floral print and coral tones it is perfect for the summer.  I love wrap dresses and I particularly like this one.  Since as my poor little dress suffered the summer inside my wardrobe last year, I can assure you it will be making many an outing this year!

Please don't forget to check out the other ladies on this challenge too:

Off With His Head!

Hello!  I'm happy to tell you that I am now involved in a fashion challenge!  I have been looking for one for a while now and after speaking to @BethTinkerbell on Twitter I am now a part of the Magnificent 7th.

As you can tell, I'm more than a little late with this month's challenge but as I only joined this week, I hope I'm forgiven!  This month's theme is monochrome.

After doing a little shopping in my wardrobe I came across this heart print dress from @verynetwork in the @So_Fab_Clothing range.  I have put it together with a little red shrug that I bought from Next Inspire and also a red belt from @Asos.

Given the inclement weather we are experiencing I also added black opaque tights, my gorgeous black Hush Puppies shoes with heart cut outs and a heart necklace that I bought from a jewellery stall in a market.

All in all, I felt that the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland and given the day I've had at work today, I was sorely tempted to chop off some heads.

Check out below what the other lovely ladies wore for this month's theme.
